As it turns out, the replacement gasket didn't work for my 40 year old freezer.  It fit well enough but the door wouldn't seal.  Could have been the door, who knows, but Edgewater Parts customer service was incredible.  Even though we had to purchase a new freezer, I will remember Edgewater Parts if I ever need a replacement part.
